Pierce Brosnan calls for citizen action to stop the Apache Alaska Corporation from deploying seismic airguns in the critical habitat of the last 284 beluga whales of Alaska's Cook Inlet.
Climate Reality Project - an online
global event starting in
Mexico City on September 14th and ending in NYC at 7pm, September 15th, called 24 Hours of Reality. Each hour there will
be a climate change presentation in a different time zone. From
Tonga to Cape Verde, Mexico City to Alaska, Jakarta to London,
people living with the impacts of climate change every day will tell
their story. Click here
to find the location — or locations — where you would like to watch a
presentation. Due to logistical considerations, three of the
presentations will be broadcast remotely from New York — Tonga, the
Solomon Islands and French Polynesia — but will include local footage
and information. All other presentations will be filmed on location
around the world. climaterealityproject.org
Each of the presentations is
anticipated to cover the current science behind climate change, the
social-ecological impacts to each of the regions represented, and a wide
range of climate change mitigation strategies and policies (all
different depending on the country presenting). Project is funded and chaired by Al Gore.
